Native American Fashion Show

Submitted by analysa.allison on

Our program hosted a Native American Fashion Show this past Monday. The primary goal of this event was to educate our community about the rich culture of Native Americans.

Numerous participants participated in the showcase, presenting a blend of traditional pow-wow regalia and contemporary fashion. Each participant shared a personalized clothing description with the cultural significance of each clothing item and accessory. Their confidence and heartfelt sharing of their culture added a beautiful touch to the event.

Our Title VI Team invited local artists to sell their artwork to patrons. We were delighted to welcome over 10 vendors, offering an array of handcrafted jewelry and accessories. We are sincerely thankful to all the vendors, some of whom traveled long distances to participate in this special evening.

Jerry and Maria Yazzie, long-time supporters of our program, contributed to the event by preparing and selling frybread to raise funds for our scholarship program. Our scholarship initiative has been running for over 20 years.
